Common Core State Standards Seminar

Teachers of social studies, history, science, technical subjects, and foreign languages will learn how to incorporate both Quick Writes and more in-depth pieces into their lesson plans. Subject matter is not sacrificed; instead, it is enhanced by the process of formulating an organized one-paragraph or multi-paragraph essay requiring students to explain various facts learned in a lesson. Participants will be shown step-by-step strategies that will enable them to assess papers in class, giving students immediate feedback and helping teachers avoid grading at home.

Levels 6-12
